Hiroshima Kenjin-Kai
of Southern California
Founded in 1909. Connecting Southern California and Hiroshima for Generations.
Welcome! We are a nonprofit organization connecting those with roots in Hiroshima Prefecture, and all who love Hiroshima, throughout Southern California. For generations, we have brought together family, friends, and community through cultural events, scholarships, youth programs, memorial services, and exchanges with Hiroshima, Japan.
Over a century of community in Southern California
Founded in Los Angeles in 1909, the Hiroshima Kenjin-Kai of Southern California is one of the oldest Japanese prefectural associations in the United States.
Our mission is to preserve and celebrate Hiroshima's heritage, foster a sense of community among our members and their families, support future generations, and strengthen the cultural ties between Southern California and Hiroshima, Japan.
Whether you have family roots in Hiroshima or simply an interest in its culture and history, we welcome you to join our community. Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
